To follow up last year’s sweeping and hopeful “Out of my Dreams and Into My Arms,” Joy has written a mystical, intimate album called “The Oracle.” While “Out of My Dreams” featured more a full-band sound, this album saw Joy boldly delving back into her early roots of recording and playing solo. “The Oracle”‘s lyrical imagery sees Joy exploring her Celtic ancestry and pagan folklore with songs about Celtic goddesses Morrigan and Étain and the Russian mythic creature the Alkonost. Additionally, the album features Joy putting Tolkien’s words to music in a song about Faramir from The Lord of the Rings and Joy’s version of the Irish traditional song ‘The Parting Glass.”
Of the album Joy says, “I wanted to make an album that was just as intimate, creative, and raw as the earliest recordings I did when I was 15, with the beautiful production quality that wasn’t available to me back then.” The resulting 11-song album sees Joy’s Celtic harp, cello, and vocals taking an intimate forefront. The songs are just being mixed and mastered now and we can’t wait to share it with you all!
Album release concert TBA very soon!
