Part of the inspiration for our band name “The Beauty Marks” comes from the birth marks on the body which could, in historic witch trials, condemn a person to death as a witch. Our next album features a song called “Midsummer Witch-hunt” which is inspired by these historic trials and the injustices enacted upon the accused men and women and even some animals, due to religious superstitions and the violent assertion of cultural homogeneity. Our next album “Mo Anam Cara” will be dedicated to all those who have been executed as witches or heretics, for being free-thinkers, pagans, or non-conformists of all kinds.
